We built Hare and Bear after the arrival of our daughter, Elfa, who was born in December 2019. As first time parents, we very much experienced all the wonderful highs and all the challenges that having a newborn brings! We have since had a second little girl, called Poppy, and a little boy, Lowen.
The support from our friends and family was invaluable, and we wanted to be able to do something to support other new families on this bonkers journey of bringing a new baby into the world.
We live in a little village on the North coast of Cornwall. We love the Cornish lifestyle - sea, surf and occasional sunshine - and have used Cornish brands wherever possible to share our love for this wonderful place. We have also tried to ensure we source products that are from ethically and environmentally conscious companies.
While feel very lucky to have given birth to three happy and healthy little ones, we had a miscarriage in the summer of 2022. Figures show that 1 in 4 women will experience a miscarriage, which seems a staggering number. We are giving 10% of our profits to Tommy's, a charity set up to support people through pregnancy loss and to fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth. Tommy's target is to halve the number of babies that are lost during pregnancy or birth by 2030.
We hope that our boxes bring joy to people.
